Professional Experience

Before joining Gilroy Napoli Short, Melodie, a skilled Salem DUI attorney, spent over a decade as a Deputy District Attorney at the Marion County District Attorney’s Office. There, she prosecuted a diverse array of cases, including Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, domestic violence, complex property and financial fraud, high-level drug crimes, firearm offenses, and serious Measure 11 person crimes such as homicide. Melodie leverages her extensive experience to guide clients through the criminal justice system, advocating for fair and just outcomes during challenging times.

Educational Background

Melodie earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Oregon State University. She then attended Willamette College of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution.

Personal Interests

Outside of the office, Melodie enjoys spending time with her husband and children and experimenting with new baking recipes in her kitchen.
